Hello and Welcome!
My name is Samantha Kearns - owner, designer and maker of Spreading Sonshine.​
I am a wife to Austin and Mom of 4: Brady, Kenny, Ruby here on Earth and Sonny in Heaven.​
After my sweet baby, Sonny, unexpectedly passed away in 2022 at just 3 months old, I started to create jewelry as part of my healing journey. In the beginning it was really just a hobby to spark a little bit of joy - creating bracelets and necklaces for myself and close loved ones. I realized how much it filled my cup to focus on something I enjoyed, not letting my mind wander... and in the end creating something beautiful. All gold and a lot of suns!
I love wearing something that represented Sonny, even in the smallest of ways. I realized that creating handmade jewelry in honor of Sonny's light and love was just what I needed. ​These delicate pieces made with the most unconditional, precious love spreads his golden Sonshine...adding brightness to your day and warmth to your soul.
Meet Sonny Baby
Sonny brought so much love and laughter into our lives. The sweetest soul, the most precious Angel. Although we only had him physically with us for 3 months, he has changed our lives forever. We miss him so incredibly much. We feel Sonny's light shining down on us every single day. We celebrate him and the joy he brought us...and continues to bring us.
Vision
No matter how painful, what you do with it all leaves a legacy greater than the pain itself.
Spreading Sonshine was started to create a legacy (no matter how big or small) from the deep pain of losing Sonny.
The grieving process is a journey - a never-ending journey. I want to spread light in his name, anyway I can.
